The ground tremors, a violent seizure of concrete and tile. The beast descends, its cavernous mouth eclipsing the flickering firelight. They are cornered against a shattered porcelain sink, weapons raised, completely dwarfed by the nightmare dripping thick slime from above. There is no door. There is no rescue. In the split second before the jaws snap shut, their eyes meet. The title echoes in the silence between heartbeats. To save one, the other must become bait. The ultimate betrayal, or the ultimate sacrifice, hangs heavy in the sulfurous air.
